Indian exports up in more nations out of destinations in this year
In the face of prevailing global economic uncertainties, India's export landscape showcased resilience and adaptability in the fiscal year 2023-24. Despite challenges, India managed to expand its export footprint, reaching a diverse array of 115 countries out of 238 destinations. While merchandise exports experienced a slight dip of 3%, amounting to USD 437.1 billion, services exports surged to USD 341.1 billion, showcasing a notable upward trajectory.
The combined export figures, encompassing both goods and services, reached an impressive USD 778.2 billion. Notably, India's position in the global merchandise export arena saw an enhancement, climbing from 19th to 17th place, with a marginal uptick in market share from 1.70% in 2014 to 1.82% in 2023. These statistics underscore India's continued engagement and competitiveness in the global trade landscape, reflecting its steady progression as a key player in the international market.
